Pacific Compass Insurance was started on a simple observation: the Medicare industry is extremely good at selling and extremely bad at explaining.
Every year, millions of people make a decision that affects their doctors, their prescriptions and their savings — after a fifteen-minute phone call from a stranger who is paid on the outcome. It isn't that the people making those calls are dishonest. It's that the whole system is built around volume, and volume has no patience for questions.
So we're building the other version. The one where the education is free, public, and available before anyone talks to you. Where "here's a free state counselor who can help you for nothing" is an acceptable answer. Where you're allowed to take a week to think.
Who's behind it
Pacific Compass is being built in San Diego, California by Ben Chaib. Ben began his career in insurance in 1990, and spent the three decades after that leading sales organizations and the people in them. He wrote a book, The Human Connection: Unlocking Potential in Business and Leadership, about what gets lost when organizations optimize for transactions instead of people.
That's the same problem this agency exists to fix, in an industry where the stakes are somebody's healthcare instead of somebody's quota.
What we can do today
Pacific Compass Insurance Agency LLC holds California Department of Insurance license #6020518. Carrier appointments are still being completed, so everything on this site today is general education — we're not quoting, recommending, or enrolling anyone in a plan, and we'll say so plainly rather than blur the line.
What we can do right now is answer general questions in writing, show you the official source behind every answer, and tell you when a free state counselor is the better option. If that's useful to you today, it's yours.
Our standing rules
- If a claim can't be traced to Medicare.gov, CMS, a carrier document, or the California Department of Insurance, we don't make it.
- We never need your health history to answer a general question, so we don't ask for it.
- Your contact information stays with us. It is never sold, shared, or traded.
- If the honest answer is "this isn't something I can help with," you get that answer.
